瓔珞(ようらく)とはもともとインドの上流階級の人々が身に付けたもので、珠玉や貴金属を編んで頭や首や胸にかける装身具です。これがのちに菩薩像などの身を飾るものとして用いられ、寺院内でも天蓋の装飾に用いられたそうです。

そんな瓔珞（ようらく）を染付で縁取りし、窓枠を切った中には九谷焼の特徴でもある花鳥を施してあります。絵柄はお料理の邪魔をしない優しいデザインとなっています。

 

お料理の取り皿としてお使いいただける他、ケーキなどの洋菓子をのせてもステキですね。来客のおもてなしにお使い頂ければ、食卓も豪華に演出してくれます。

About Araki Urushi Pottery

Nanao suffered two major fires, in April 1895 and November 1905, and no records of the past remain. The only thing that remains is a boat chest containing lacquerware with the inscription "Kaei 7, February, Year of the Tiger, Shinjo Masahiro." Looking into the temple's past records, we find that the first Masanori of Ipponsugicho was called Atarashiya, not Araki, and his shop name was Shinmasa. It is said that he was a peddler of Wajima lacquerware from that time.
