銀彩とは、銀箔を素地の全面に貼り付け、焼成を重ね銀箔ごしに表れる微妙な色彩を表現したものです。銀箔の重なり具合により、浮かび上がる絵模様に濃淡が生じ、それが深い味わいとなっています。

 

カップの側面に親指が収まりやすいえくぼがあるので手に馴染みやすい形となっています。絵付けは職人が一つ一つ丁寧に手作業にて絵付けをしていますので、2つとして同じものは存在しません。

About Araki Urushi Pottery

Nanao suffered two major fires, in April 1895 and November 1905, and no records of the past remain. The only thing that remains is a boat chest containing lacquerware with the inscription "Kaei 7, February, Year of the Tiger, Shinjo Masahiro." Looking into the temple's past records, we find that the first Masanori of Ipponsugicho was called Atarashiya, not Araki, and his shop name was Shinmasa. It is said that he was a peddler of Wajima lacquerware from that time.
